ALMM List-II is now in force — and MNRE revised it three times in August alone
Since 1 June 2026, modules used in government-supported solar projects must be built from cells made by manufacturers on ALMM List-II. MNRE issued a clarification, a List-I update and a ninth List-II revision within three weeks of August 2026.

MNRE gives inverter makers until 16 September to confirm rooftop data stays in India
A ministry notice dated 17 August 2026 requires inverter manufacturers supplying PM Surya Ghar to confirm in writing that all inverter-level data from Indian rooftops is held on servers inside India. The deadline is 30 days.

What the PM Surya Ghar subsidy actually pays in 2026 — and where it stops
The Central Financial Assistance is ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW or above. The cap at 3 kW is the part households most often misunderstand, and it changes how a larger system should be sized.

The 5.75% solar loan is not a fixed rate — it is the repo rate plus 50 basis points
Collateral-free loans of up to ₹2 lakh are available for rooftop solar under PM Surya Ghar at the repo rate plus 0.50 per cent, which stood at 5.75 per cent. Because it is linked to the repo, the number moves — and households should plan on that.
